SQL USE Statement

In case, if there are multiple databases available in your SQL schema, then you must need to select a database (where all the operations are going to perform) before starting your operation.

The SQL USE statement is used to select existing database in SQL schema. Here is the general form of the USE statement in SQL to select any database present in the SQL schema:

USE database_name;

SQL Select Database Example

Before selecting an existing database, you can check all the available databases using the following SQL statement:

SHOW DATABASES;

The above SQL statement display all the database present in the SQL schema. Now note down the name of the database which you are going to use. And then query the USE statement to select the required database
