Access to Remote Database

If you are in a network (in a LAN), then you are able to share or access to other computer in the same network (LAN).

If you are in a network and you are connected through a MODEM then here you will learn about how to access the data from one computer to other. You can take the full control of other computer with your computer.

You can remotely access a computer data from another computer if you are connected through wifi or wired connection.

Here you will learn how to access remotely to a computer from another computer that are connected in a LAN. Here you will learn about how to accessing remotely for both for windows 7 and windows 8.

Suppose that in a network, there are two laptops, windows 7 installed in first laptop and windows 8 installed in second laptop and a desktop is also connected to the same LAN.

The desktop is connected in a LAN through wire and both the laptops are also connected in the same LAN but through wifi.

How to Access Remotely (for Windows 8)

In windows 8 desktop, you will find an icon of Network. In case if you will not find the icon of network, then click Right mouse button on the desktop, then click on personalize. A new window will come out. There is a Change desktop icon present at the top left side of the window. You have to click on the change desktop icon button. After clicking on this, you will find a new small window come out again. In this window you have to mark on the Network, then do apply and then OK, and close both the windows. You will find Network icon on your windows 8 desktop.

If after performing this, network icon is not coming on the desktop, then click on the This PC icon present at the windows 8 desktop. And you will see a Network option present at the left side of the menu. Just click on the Network menu. When you click on the network, all the computer that are connected to the network displays. Your computer also displays along with other computer in the computer list connected to the same network after clicking on the network button.

Now to access the remote desktop of other computer, then do right click on that computer, and then click on the Connect with Remote desktop connection. After clicking on the connect with remote desktop connection, you will see a small window will come out asking for the username and password. Now you have to enter the username and password and then click on the OK button. After clicking on the OK button, another small window will come out asking for the security, you have only to click on the Yes button on this small window. After clicking on the yes button, a new window will come out which is the computer that you have just accessed remotely.

This window is the desktop of the computer that you have accessed remotely now.

Now you can access and use anything, any documents, files, of that computer. You can also change anything of that computer using your computer because you have just accessed that computer remotely.

How to Access Remotely (for Windows 7)

Now to access another computer using this already accessed windows 7 computer on the same LAN, then you have to again go to the Network menu using this windows 7 pc (that is remotely accessed now by the windows 8 pc).

In windows 7, go to start menu, then go to control pannel, here you will find an option of network and sharing centre. Just click on this option. After clicking on the network and sharing centre, you will find the network that this computer is connected. Now you have to click on that network, and you will find all the computers that are connected to this network.

Now to connect with another computer that are connected to the same LAN, then do right click on the computer that you want to access remotely. After performing the right click on that computer then click on the Connect with remote desktop connection option. And then enter the userid and password to access that computer remotely.

When you see that the computers are displaying in the network. Then you will find an icon and a name is given to every computer. Then icon is the computer icon and name is the name of the computer.

Now to change the computer name that are connected to the same LAN, you have to click on the My computer icon present at the desktop and then go to properties. There you will find Change setting at the right bottom side.

Click on the change setting, and you will find a new small window will come out, then click on change, then write the name and then click on the Ok button and then computer asking for restart, just do restart to successfully change the computer's name.
